December 19th
今日は事前に準備はしていたものの、やっていたと思っていた事を実際はやっていなくて予想以上に時間を取られ、結果バタバタになってしまった。
決算準備も一旦はオーケーをもらったけど、やっぱり修正を入れる羽目になり、こちらもバタバタ。思ったよりスムーズにはいかなかった。
けど、何とか前には進めたからよしとする。
それはそれでいいんだけど。
問題は事務所のエアコン。
かなり年季が入ってるふっるーい型のエアコンで、数年前くらいから途中運転が止まったりしていたけど何とか動いてくれてたからそのまま騙し騙し使ってた。
けど先週末けたたましい異音を立て始め、その後から一気に不調になった。
電源を入れて少し暖まった？と思ったら運転が止まってしまうので気がついたら室温が下がってしまっていて、しかもこの冬一番の寒気がどうのこうのいう時期に故障。
夕方には耐えきれず思わず室内なんだけどダウンジャケット着ないと寒くて仕事ができなかった（苦笑）
散々な1日だったけど、夜にはお楽しみが待ってた。
土曜日に勢いで注文した仕事用のバッグ。トートは持っていたけどいまいち使い勝手が悪かったことと、出張に行ったりする時とか荷物が多くなるのでこれまではリュックで行ってたりしてたけど、いい加減大容量タイプかつカチッとした見た目のトートが欲しいなと思っていろいろ探して悩んだ挙句購入。予定では明日到着のはずだったけど、予定が早まって今日届いた！
中の仕切りが思ったよりふにゃふにゃしてて、正直もう少しコンパートメントがきっちり分かれててほしかったけど、でもラップトップは楽勝で入るし、普段持ち運ぶものを入れてもまだまだ余裕で、しかも肩にかけてもそこまで重さを感じなくて、かなり気に入った。
普段ノートパソコンを持ち運ぶことは殆どないけど、今関わっているプロジェクトの進展次第では客先への訪問に同行して資料を見せながらの簡単なプレゼンとかいう可能性もなきにしも非ずだし、いずれにしてもA4サイズの資料が余裕で持ち運べるので便利がいい。
いい買い物してモチベーションもさらに向上。
明日からこの子で出勤するのが楽しみだなぁ。
Things didn't go as swimmingly as I had hoped today despite all the preparations I made last weekend.
It turned out I didn't do what I had thought I had and it ended up taking much of my morning.
As for the reports on the final accounts (what we usually call "Kessan"), I did get the green light in the morning but once again, I found some small mistakes and I had to redo some of the calculation all over again (silly me!) which made my afternoon super busy.
That said though, I did make great progress, enabling me to move on with the final stretch. So that's an A-OK.
The problem is THE AIR CONDITIONING in our office.
It's quite an old model that we've been using for God-knows-how-long and it's sometimes run into some problems in the past few years.
Since it had kept working just fine, we have turned a blind eye, thought nothing of it.
Last Friday, however, it suddenly started making quite a racket and then it switched itself off, completely unresponsive.
Despite our desperate attempts to get it working, once it gets warmed up to some degree, it keeps shutting itself off, rendering the office into a chilling fridge.
As it happened at the coldest time of the year with some snowflakes intermittently fell from the sky, I couldn't resist putting on my downjacket in the evening. It was literally a sucker punch, making my day even more miserable.
But hey, there was a brigh side waiting for me at home.
I impulse-bought a tote bag from Amazon last Saturday and initially it was scheduled to arrive tomorrow, Tuesday.
Since I was hoping it would arrive sooner, it was really an unexpected, nice surprise!
Just like the item description said, it can accommodate so much stuff such as laptop, A4 sized-documents, comsmetics, purse, etc. I wished the compartments were a bit stiffer than they actually are, but maybe it was to allow more stuff to get squeezed in, so I won't be complaining!
More than anything, I love how the bag makes me look like a "business woman," someone who elegantly whips their laptop out of her bag and start checking emails or something (stupid fantasy, I know).
I rarely carries my laptop with me, but who knows? Depending on the developments of a project I'm involved in, I may be presented with an opportunity to do some casual presentations with our potential clients in the future (a girl can always dream, right?)
Anyway, I am satisfied with my latest purchase. I cannot wait to go to work with this baby tomorrow.
